Finvacon is looking for a Production Manager in Vaasa.
In this position, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of Finvacon’s two factories (Strömberg Park and Runsor) and act as a supervisor for production management, logistics manager, and purchasing coordinator. The total number of people in the organization you will manage is approximately 50.
Finvacon’s production mainly consists of wood industry processes and metal production. Wood material is used to manufacture, for example, electrical insulation products, and in metal production, e.g., components for oil-filled transformers are manufactured, and CNC machining of electric motors is carried out.
A key part of the role is production planning, scheduling, ensuring sufficient resources, and leading occupational safety efforts. You will also oversee machine maintenance together with external service partners and support the well-being of your teams. The Production Manager leads the production steering group, which reports directly to the company’s management team.
You will also participate in several ongoing and upcoming development projects, including:
- Implementation of a new MES system
- Building a continuous improvement model
- Utilizing AI agents in operations
- Construction of a new production facility
- Improving delivery reliability and quality through various initiatives

What we expect from you
- Experience in industrial production management and supervisory work
- Knowledge of occupational safety practices
- Experience with MES/ERP systems and good Office 365 skills
- Experience in the continuous improvement model / 6S operations
- Experience in participating in quality system audits
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Procurement experience (materials, tools, maintenance services)
- Basic knowledge of budgeting and cost monitoring
- Fluent Finnish and good English language skills
- A driver’s license and your own car (moving between workstations with km allowances)
- A relevant technical education or equivalent expertise gained through work experience
We consider it an advantage
- Experience in the wood and/or process industry, component manufacturing, assembly and/or metal production
- Experience in factory layout design
- Work methods and production skills

The position includes some business travel (for example, trade fairs within Europe). Salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. The preferred start date is after the summer holiday period, during the autumn.
