Our story

Finvacon’s journey is a testament to the power of innovation and the ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Our story began in 1969 when John Syring, Chairman of Vaasa’s Registered Association of People with Physical Disabilities, noticed many people in the area with limited work abilities still wanted to work. Together with the local employment service, he started the foundation for a workshop, supported by the Finnish Association of People with Physical Disabilities (FPD). The workshop included a wood, metal, sewing, and assembly department. The origin of Finvacon was born.

In the 1970s and 80s Finvacon specialized in producing dollhouses modeled after the iconic Lundby design. This early focus on craftwork laid the foundation for our future, leading us to develop customized insulation components manufacturing capabilities for energy needs.

Over the past 50 years, we have transformed from a local company into a leading global manufacturer. We operate in a specialized B2B segment within an oligopolistic market, positioning ourselves as a unique player in the energy supply chain and automation technology industry. What sets us apart is our capability to manufacture both electric insulation and metal components for industrial motors, offering a comprehensive solution that is rare in the industry. Today, we are proud to supply some of the world’s largest energy and automation industries with these essential components.

We have consistently anticipated industry needs and leveraged our knowledge of technology and processes to deliver innovative solutions for the future. Finvacon’s story is a unique blend of tradition and technology, demonstrating our commitment to staying at the forefront of industry.

Values

Courage

Our journey from a small, local business to a global manufacturer is about having the ‘courage’ of being agile and responsive to the market.

New Normal

We want to create ‘a new normal’ by turning difference into excellence. The essential thought behind new normal is that it is perfectly normal to be a human being and employee with disabilities.

Better Work

We don’t say that we are the ‘best’ because of our continuous endeavour to be ‘better’ than yesterday.
